How it goes together

A kitchen, built in the order it's built.

The order a kitchen comes together, step by step. A generic layout, not to scale, not a quote.

  1. Site visit & measurement

We measure your space, understand how you'll use it, and note plumbing and electrical points before anything is designed.

  2. Carcass boxes

The carcass is the box behind the doors. It's cut and edge-banded at our workshop, not at your home, so your house stays livable.

  3. Countertop

Hob and sink cut-outs are part of the layout and itemised quote. The worktop goes on when our team installs.

  4. Wall units

Overhead units are fitted by our own installation team, as part of an install that usually takes 2–4 days.

  5. Shutters

Laminate, acrylic or PU. Each has real weaknesses as well as strengths, and the materials guide below spells them out.

  6. Hob, sink & chimney

Chimney and hob cut-outs are included, so appliances drop into openings made for them.

  7. Handles & handover

Our team aligns every shutter and walks you through the hardware. Snags are fixed before we call it done.

Material guide

Laminate, acrylic or PU? Here's the honest answer.

Every vendor will push whatever earns them most. Here's the same comparison we walk clients through at the first meeting — read it before you talk to anyone, including us.

Laminate

₹ · Most economical · 100s of designs

A decorative sheet pressed onto plywood or MDF. The workhorse of Indian kitchens — durable, scratch-resistant, and available in matte, gloss and texture finishes that mimic wood, stone and fabric.

Best for: rental properties, first homes, kitchens that see heavy daily cooking, and anyone who wants maximum kitchen per rupee.
Where it wins
  • Cheapest per sq.ft, biggest design range
  • Handles scratches and heat well
  • Easy and cheap to repair a single shutter
Where it loses
  • Visible joint lines at edges
  • Gloss laminates never look as deep as acrylic
  • Can peel at edges after years of moisture

Acrylic

₹₹ · High-gloss mirror finish

A thick acrylic layer over MDF that gives a deep, mirror-like gloss — the "showroom kitchen" look. Colours stay vivid for years and the surface is non-porous, so it wipes clean easily.

Best for: modern apartments where the kitchen is visible from the living area, and homes where looks matter as much as function.
Where it wins
  • Deepest gloss and colour of any finish
  • UV-resistant — doesn't yellow
  • Seamless look with matching edge-banding
Where it loses
  • Shows fingerprints — needs regular wiping
  • Scratches are harder to repair than laminate
  • Roughly 1.5–2× laminate cost

PU Paint

₹₹₹ · Premium, any colour, matte or gloss

Polyurethane paint sprayed in multiple coats and cured — the finish used in high-end European kitchens. No sheets, no edges: shutters are painted on all sides in literally any colour you can name.

Best for: premium homes, unusual colour choices, curved or grooved shutter profiles, and kitchens meant to last 15+ years looking the same.
Where it wins
  • Edgeless, painted-on-all-sides finish
  • Unlimited colours, matte to high gloss
  • Small chips can be re-sprayed invisibly
Where it loses
  • Most expensive option
  • Longer production time (curing coats)
  • Overkill for rental or short-stay homes
How it works

From first call to final handover.

WEEK 0

Free site visit

We measure your space, understand how you'll use it, and note plumbing and electrical points. In Gurgaon, usually within 48 hours of your call.

WEEK 1

Design & quote

You get a layout, finish options and an itemised quote — carcass, shutters, hardware, installation, all listed separately. No lump-sum mystery pricing.

WEEK 2–4

Production

Cutting, edge-banding and finishing happen at our workshop, not at your home. Your house stays livable — no week-long carpentry dust.

FINAL WEEK

Install & handover

Our own team installs in 2–4 days, aligns every shutter, and walks you through the hardware. Snags fixed before we call it done.

Before you buy — from anyone

Questions people ask us, answered straight.

Plywood or MDF — which should I pick?

For kitchens (water + heat), we recommend BWR/BWP plywood for base units. MDF is fine — and gives a smoother finish — for wardrobe shutters and wall units that don't face moisture. Anyone who says one is "always better" is selling, not advising.

Why do quotes from different vendors vary so much?

Usually three hidden variables: plywood grade (MR vs BWR vs BWP), hardware brand (local vs branded soft-close), and what's excluded (countertop, appliances, loft). Always compare itemised quotes, never lump sums.

How long does a modular kitchen actually last?

With BWR ply and decent hardware: 12–15 years easily. What fails first is usually cheap hinges and channels — which is why we don't fit unbranded hardware even in budget kitchens.

Do you handle old kitchen dismantling?

Yes — dismantling and debris removal is quoted upfront with the rest, so there's no surprise on installation day.

A 5-point checklist for any vendor

  • Ask for the plywood brand and grade in writing on the quote.
  • Ask which hardware brand — and check the soft-close in person.
  • Confirm what's excluded: countertop, sink, appliances, loft, lights.
  • Ask where production happens — workshop-made beats on-site carpentry for finish.
  • Get the warranty terms for hardware and shutters separately.

Use this list on us too. We'll pass.
